TRENDS FOR 2023
A wave of blue with a Mediterranean feel
In 2023, we’ll be transported by Mediterranean designs and their distinctive blue color. This year, blue is the color to add to your home: whether it’s by incorporating a ceramic decorative object with a pattern, or entirely blue. We can afford to be daring and repaint the room, because according to designers, the wave of blue is just beginning.
The return of dark wood
This year, the theme is comfort! We’ve spent a lot of time at home in the last few years and living spaces are meant to be warm and cozy. That’s why dark wood tones are making a big comeback. The trend applies to every room in the house: doors, kitchen cabinets, wood furniture…the possibilities are endless. Cherry, willow, acacia, teak, walnut, ebony and more: there’s something for everyone.
Hyper-texturality
Used on all kinds of surfaces, ceramic tiles are currently in the spotlight on walls. There are many colors and patterns to choose from, but in 2023 we’re thinking texture!
Opt for tiles with irregular and changing surfaces, rather than those that are smooth and elegant.
Not a fan of tiles? The hyper-textural trend is also expressed in trowel plaster finishes and rough wall textures. Walls can be left raw or painted to show subtle differences in hue.
Lighting: curved & structural (statement)
Accessories and furniture with curved looks have gained popularity, but experts predict that curved lighting in particular will take center stage in 2023.
Whimsical curves can bring a slightly eclectic touch to our modern living rooms, while creating balance with other elements of the decor. Dome-shaped floor lamps are especially a hit. If you only have one addition to make, this is it!
The use of lighting as a statement object is very much in vogue for 2023. This is achieved through the use of structural lighting. Think funky chandeliers with interesting shapes and lines, oddly shaped lamp bases and original shades. Their uniqueness makes them beautiful.
